I. Definition

When logistics providers such as USPS generate shipping labels, they may add prefixes or suffixes, resulting in additional characters appended to the actual tracking number on the label. This can cause handheld scanners to fail in recognizing the tracking number on the label. To ensure correct identification, it is necessary to extract the tracking number by truncating the additional characters.

II. Operating Procedure: Tracking Number Extraction Settings

Example: If you select to truncate from left to right, the specified starting position refers to the beginning digit. For instance, if the tracking number is 13 digits long and you wish to extract from the 3rd digit to the 13th digit (a total of 11 digits), you would set the truncation to start at the 3rd digit.
